Dave and Busters

So none of us were super excited about going to Dave and Busters, but in the pursuit of all that is nachos, we must try them all.  We scheduled it on a Wednesday since that is half-off game night in case any of the nacho connoisseurs wanted to play some skee ball after grubbing.  After walking around the top bar area where all the games are, we decided it was too loud up there for us and opted for a table downstairs in the dining room.  It ended up being just a small, intimate group that fit in one little booth.  Sometimes, these are the best ones...even if the nachos suck.  And they did pretty much.  They were not the worst ever, but come on they put lettuce on them!  Why why why do people put lettuce on nachos?  No bueno.  The service was good, although they wouldn't let us sit without 75% of our party present.  This always annoys the few of us that show up early to get some happy hour drinks before nacho time.  Luckily they had a big bar for us to sit in and enjoy some libations.  After the nachos, we headed to Real for some tasty beer.  Since we were there we had to try the garlic candied bacon and the bacon fat french fries.  They were both delicious.  Go eat them.

$11.99

Shananigans (3) - Big plate. RAD: Jalapenos and black beans, sour cream, tortilla chips have a good crunchy flavor. LAME: WTF…seriously why do all these places put lettuce on their nachos.  The meat is mixed in the queso sauce so vegetarians are out of luck. T:C Ratio=3, empty chips and lots of them, but some extra queso to scoop up with them.  I loved how small the group was with some of my favorite nacho friends.  The server was nice, but they wouldn't sit us until 75% of our party was there.

Shley (3.14) - Large yet colorful. RAD: Guacamole. LAME: No meat. T:C Ratio=3, jalapenos included.

Nick Nock (2) - Sloppy RAD: Spicy jalapenos, crunchy chips. LAME: Lettuce and not enough sour cream and guacamole. T:C Ratio=2, meaty queso sauce is good and can be scooped up.  This place is lame, lots of birthday singing.

Traci (3, the chips made these get a three, the rest was just eh) - BIG! RAD: Comes with guac and sour cream.  Meat mixed in with the cheese sauce.  I like the texture better than plain nacho cheese, fresh tomatoes, chips are crispy. LAME: Only one meat option, no cheese. T:C Ratio=3.5, not many empty chips and not so many toppings that the chips get soggy.  Teeny bopper music sucks.  But the 90s Fresh Prince saved it!

Look at all those empty chips!

Erica (1.5) - They look decent, good variety of toppings. RAD: Meat in cheese sauce and chips are very crunchy. LAME: Expensive beer and not enough toppings.  The chips taste weird without the toppings.  Chips at the bottom didn't get too soggy. T:C Ratio=2.  Typical chain restaurant service, sort of fake and lots to be desired.
Hard at work...good nacho friends!
