Hawaiian Tacos at the soon to be extinct International Marketplace

Sadly, the International Marketplace got closed down on December 31st and all merchants inside had to vacate.  We made sure to go and eat the nachos at the little mexican place inside the International Marketplace food court.  We timed it perfectly so we got to see the hula show one last time.  The Boise State football team decided to eat food at the same time as us so we were a little inundated with huge guys taking over all our seats.  Traci and I exchanged some nachoriffic christmas gifts with each other.  She gave me some awesome homemade nacho supreme earrings and I gave her a cookbook of all that is nachos.  WE WILL MAKE EVERY ONE AND EAT THEM.

The cutest old couple kept walking by in coordinating aloha wear, even the blue hair. 

Amos is super serious for his first ever nacho blog!

Cheree: (3.5) Flat but cheesy, salsa, bit of sour and guac.  RAD : Deliciously flavored pork & beef.  SIde of jalapenos and hot sauce comes with it.  Tasty pico de gallo but needs more.  Real cheese and lots of it.  LAME : Flat, not super size, so a bit small for the cost.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 2.5, mediocre, tons on top but chips below naked.  It tests your ability to separate the cheese.

Nacho Libra: (2.5) Smaller portion than expected.  Looks colorful and well covered.  RAD : Hot sauce is good.  The coconut cream sauce that they put on their kalua pork tacos is good!  Kalua pork much better than the shrimp.  LAME : Chips too salty…surprising coming from me!  Small portion for the price.  Some cheese not melted.  Overall, underwhelmed.  Small bits of chips.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3, jost on top.  Extra chips, but no extra toppings to scoop up.  Free Christmas hula show!  When too busy dude stressed out and was way rude.  Sad to see the International Marketplace end.  

JCO'H: (3) It's fun with the dance and musica.  Tiempos divertidos con los amigos.  RAD : La gente.  LAME : The service was not the best.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3.

Amos: (3) Was not impressed with paper plate/tinfoil.  The nachos themselves looked really nice.  All the toppings were well distributed.  RAD : I liked that they had shrimp as a topping and that they used colby jack cheese.  LAME : Kind of expenisve for what you get and needs more salsa.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4.  Great atmosphere, live Hawaiian music at International food court.  Horrible service.  

Shananigans: (3) Real cheese, sour cream, guac, pico, jalapenos, hot sauce.  RAD : Live hula show, coconut cream sauce is the shit.  Sweet and spicy.  Hot sauce has heat.  Real cheese.  LAME : Small portions for the pice, empty chips on the bottom, soggy chips after not too long.  Chicken had no flavor.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3.5, lots of empty chips after the initial feeding.  Hula show was fun.  Busy place, lots of awesome people watching.  We were surrounded by the boys from the Boise State football team.  Those were some big boys.  The dude selling the food at the window was rude.  Saw a cute old couple with matching aloha wear and blue hair walking ever so slowly each with a cane and holding hands.  It was super sweet.    

Tom T.: (4) Good toppings, beef > chicken.  Basic, served in paper plate and tin foil.  White cheese and mix decent amount of meat and cheese.  RAD : Hula Dancing, final trip to the International Marketplace.  Guacamole!  LAME : Foil.  Clerk dude was kind of agitated.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4, very good ratio, overall.  Some naked chips, some 150% loaded.  Good mix.
