Snappers - Kalua Pork Tater Tot Nachos

The older I get (a.k.a. the more adulting I am forced to do), the more Mondays can just suck it. Thankfully for me as my work day was drawing to an end, Katia messaged and asked if I was up for a drink.  Hell yes I was.  We decided to meet at Snapper's since they have a lanai and Mr. Spunky Jones would be able to join us.  Noticing that they had new menus since our last visit to Snapper's, we hungrily perused them not able to decide what to eat.  When Tom and Autumn joined us, it was settled that we definitely needed some cheese curds.  And since we had the rare presence of Katia, one of the founding members of the Nacho Blog, we opted to try the new tater tot nachos with Kalua pork.  After eating the cheese curds and some taco pizza, we hardly had any room for the huge mound of tater tot nachos that was brought out to us.  We could have shared just those and all been stuffed.  The plate was so full and loaded with toppings that you could not lift it with one hand without straining.  At first glance you could hardly see that there were even any tater tots under all the glorious toppings.  We did our best, but it was not near enough.  The plate hardly looked touched as if every time we took a bite more totchos magically appeared. We left defeated but happy.

The aftermath after we tried to devour as much as we could.  The amount left is larger than most full portions at other restaurants.

Tater Tot Nachos: Skip the chips, "Tater Tots" make nachos even better!  Still smothered in melted cheese and topped with choice of meat (Taco Beef or Chicken for $10.95 or Kalua Pork or Steak for $12.95), jalapeno peppers, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.

Check out Tom's arm flexing to hold up the totchos with one hand.  Heavy as f%@#!

"Face punch to your taste buds"

Shananigans (4) - PRESENTATION: Huge and heavy, loaded with toppings, like so many toppings cannot see the tots.  How the fuck are we going to eat all this?  I am already full from the delicious fried cheese curds.  So much for the diet today...  RAD: Lots of tasty pork, lots of cheese, lots of tots, jalapenos.  LAME: As with most tater tot nachos, it was definitely necessary to eat these bad boys with a fork. All the toppings made the tots soggy but they were still delicious.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4.5, So many toppings, so many tots.  Every bite could have everything you wanted on your fork.  Nom nom nom nom.  Our waitress was awesome.  Even though she was slammed, she never acted like it and was prompt to help us.  Normally I am not a fan of the service here so she was a super bonus.

Tango Tango (4.375) - PRESENTATION: Dayum these are heavy!  Full of meat!  RAD: Such huge portion, served perfectly hot.  LAME: Saltiness prevails, liquid style cheese.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 5.5, OVERLOAD.  I cannot even see tater tots anymore.  Among the best tot nachos I have tried!  100% junk food though.  You need to use a fork to eat these and like 4 hungry people.

Katia (4.2) - PRESENTATION: Hoooo another mountain!  Buuuut....this one has tater tots!  RAD: Fork is necessary!! Yum!  LAME: No way this is gonna be leftovers.  TOPPING TO TOT RATIO: 5 (rare!), Details are too diverse.  Lovely server was knowledgeable and nice.  Service wasn't always timely, but not her fault.
