La Mariana - Impromptu Post Airport Drop-Off Nachos

Tango Tango graciously offered to drive a friend to the airport.  Since we were that way, I talked him into stopping at La Mariana for a Mai Tai on the way home.  Tango Tango's last visit to La Mariana was not very pleasant.  His food was half frozen and he had a bad time with the company that was with him.  I vowed to change his perception and make a new, fun memory for him at this lovely place.  We sat at the bar where Uncle took great care of us.  At first we just ordered Mai Tai's since we had recently eaten a light breakfast. Once we saw the multiple options of nachos on the menu, we thought, "Well, we could just order the small, plain one and do an impromptu blog?"  They came out heaped on a plate and were more than just the cheese, sour cream, and jalapeno that we thought.  There were also olives, onions, tomatoes, and beans on the bottom.  Did they make a mistake?  The menu didn't say anything about all those toppings, but we were not charged anything extra.  They were smothered with cheese and had a very generous heaping of sour cream on top.  We slowly ate away at the monstrous pile and soon knew that we were not going to win this battle.  We would take the leftovers home to one of the boys at the Chateau.  Everybody loves nachos. We ended up meeting a lovely couple at the end of the bar and talking story with them for quite some time about nachos around the island.  It never ceases to amaze me how much strangers can talk about something like nachos.  #nachofriends

Nachos - $9
Tango Tango and Shananigans (3.5) - PRESENTATION: Huge pile of nachos with real cheese melted all over and fresh ingredients sprinkled all over.  RAD: Lots of yummy melted cheese, so many jalapenos, plenty of sour cream, olives. LAME: We didn't know that all the toppings would be there, probably would have gotten the onions/tomatoes on the side.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, hardly any chips empty.  Kinda weird that they put the beans on the bottom of the plate.  You don't really see them at first so you don't know they are there.  You have to dig into the pile before you find them. But at least they do put beans on there.  Not the worst, not the best.  As the couple at the end of the bar said, "You don't go here for the food, you go for the drinks and company of Uncle."

Piled high!

OMG so cheesy...shove it in your mouth!

Messing around with the face swap app.  I make a pretty bald lady...just saying.

You can't beat the view on a day like that!
