Tapas Nachos Huevos Ranchero Brunch

Just two weeks after Chef John wowed us with his Korean nachos, he was inspired to create Nachos Huevos Rancheros for brunch.  I rallied as many of the nacho friends as I could and we met early Sunday am to try them out.  I didn't set an alarm thinking there is no way I would sleep in past our brunch time of 9:30am.  I guess I was tired because I rolled over and looked at the clock and it was 9am.  Crap. Quickly I showered and walked down the street to meet the ladies, arriving just in time to join them.  Immediately I saw that Ty was once again our server.  Yes!  Ty is the best!  I ordered the Nachos Huevos Rancheros and wished I had a bigger appetite to try some of the other things on the menu (eggs benedict!!!!)  I also ordered a mimosa, light on the OJ, and met all the lovely ladies that Joey had brought along.  Within minutes I had 4 new BFFs and they eagerly accepted my invite to fill out score cards for the Nachos Huevos Ranchero.  The food came out quickly and the table quieted while we tried the different dishes.  The Nachos Huevos Ranchero were delicious AF!  Homemade chips, fresh avocado, refried beans, melted cheese, crumbled portuguese sausage, cilantro, salsa, sour cream drizzle and two eggs over easy on top.  Every bite had so much flavor and was perfect together.  Once again, you have outdone yourself John!  We sat there for hours talking story and laughing, drinking mimosas and enjoying a perfect start to Sunday Funday.  Super bonus to spend some time with my bestie Tom B. whom I have missed these last few months of working too many hours.  Mahalo Tapas for another wonderful nacho experience.  We love you!

Nachos Huevos Ranchero - $9

Joey (5) – Presentation: Yummy looking, well presented and pretty. Rad: Sausage is a nice touch, tasty and flavorful.  Can make it with other flavors of sausage. Lame: Missing avocado at first, but then it came out.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.

Robin (5) – Presentation: Colorful, tasty, good looking presentation. Rad: Avocado - yumz! Lame: More cheese. Topping to Chip Ratio: Good!!  Kielbasa sausage, eggs, and potatoes was awesome!

Shananigans (4.75) – Presentation: Homemade chips, fresh avocado, colorfully plated, eggs look perfectly runny to make a mess all over my face. Rad: Homemade chips, fresh avocado, the portuguese sausage added the perfect flavor burst. Lame: My avocado was not completely ripe. #firstworldproblems.  Also I like things spicy so I would have enjoyed some fresh jalapenos or something to that nature.   Topping to Chip Ratio: 5, every chip perfectly layered. These were definitely messy enough that they needed a fork to be eaten.  I would eat this every day.  As if I didn't get enough nachos in my life, now there is this magical breakfast option.  Ty is the best server, always smiling and never hard on the eyes.  Mucho Mahalo to John for creating this delicious dish and inviting us all.

Bee (5) – Presentation: Meh, looks okay….but like the color, very oily looking. Rad: The eggs are perfect!! The nachos are perfectly crunchy!!! Lame: More avocado. Topping to Chip Ratio: 4, lots of toppings.  Friendly service and good.

Leandra (4) – Presentation: Eggs sort of look too runny for my taste but it looks good! Rad: Avocado! Lame: Needs more avocado or guac! Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.  Good service, good coffee, eggs benedict very good, eggs were perfect.

Cyn-City (3) – Presentation: Colorful, nice, enticing. Rad: Avocados Lame: Small portion, not flavorful, tasted more refried beans. Topping to Chip Ratio: 5.  I ordered the bacon, eggs, potatoes.  It was delicious and flavorful.  Great customer service.  Comfortable atmosphere, NFL football (Chargers) on tv is the best!

So yummy...put it in my belly...eggs all over my face.
Don't worry nacho friends, if you are cold, just put on the nacho poncho to keep you warm
The adorable and wonderful, Ty!
