O'Sheehans Neighborhood Bar & Grill on the Norwegian Breakaway OUT TO SEA EDITION

We left at 10pm Hawaii time on a Thursday and began our journey to Germany to get on a Norwegian cruise ship in Warnemunde, Germany.

  • 7 hour flight to Vancouver
  • 9 hour layover in Vancouver (we left the airport and explored Granville Island, it was rad)
  • 8 hour flight to Iceland
  • 2 hour layover in Iceland
  • 3 hour flight to Germany
  • 30 minute cab ride to German train station
  • 3 hour train ride from Berlin to Warnemunde
We finally arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday. We weren't sure what time our bodies thought it was or even if we got any sleep. We dropped our luggage off in our swanky ocean view room and headed to the closest bar. We had the all-you-can drink package so... Luckily for us, the closest bar was just a floor up from us and it was an Irish Pub.  This was going to be a great trip. We sat down and the bartender asked if we were from Hawaii too because of the flower in my hair. He said there was a whole group of Hawaii people that had just left. Hmmm, I wonder if it was our friends? I look over and there's Eric. Of course our group had found the Irish Pub and made it home bar. We weren't sure if we were hungry but we saw nachos on the menu and ordered them anyway.

They were your basic ghetto bar nachos with liquid neon orange queso "cheese" but also topped with bacon, jalapenos, pico, fresh cilantro and a little sour cream drizzle. We would nosh on these several times after dancing our pants off at the disco or singing our hearts out at the karaoke. The bartenders became our dear friends and it was definitely our HOME BAR.  The nachos weren't anything to write home about, but hey they were still nachos.

If you ever end up at O'Sheehans on the Norwegian Breakaway and Wilson is your bartender, tell him we say ALOHA!
