We found the most amazing place to camp on Kauai called Kumu Camp. You can rent super affordable tentalows (with beds and linens!), tent camping sites, or even big yurts that fit a family. The campground is right on the beach of Anahola Bay and has lots of perks like bathrooms (including a shower), outlets to charge at the central pavilion, cornhole, surfboard rental, couples massage, free coffee every morning, and more! The tentalows have beds in them that come with fresh linens, a private beach shower, patio (with table and chairs), and the convenience of not having to fly with a tent, bedding, etc. We cannot wait to go back! Check them out at

Since we had to go to town for some fresh ice and more beer (and we were camping with Saints fans during the Playoffs), we had Dusty drop us off at a bar to watch the game. The bar had nachos so of course we just had to order them. I had been to this restaurant about 5 years prior and remembered the nachos and the queso to be super yummy. After eating the nachos, we were disappointed. We decided to order the queso. It was even worse. They must have changed the menu and not in a good way. The queso used to be stringy so much you could lift a chip to your head with the cheese stretching all the way. Tom Tindale do you remember? Now they serve some warmed up cheese sauce that probably came from a giant tin can. The nachos were overpriced at $17.50 (for the carne asada) and very small.
There was nothing that stood out to ever remember these as being awesome nachos. But as is the case with nachos, even the worst nachos are still nachos. We left with bellies full of chips, cheese, and tequila. It was a good day. Well, except for that horrible call with 2 minutes left in the game that led to the Saints losing.
Please enjoy some photos below of us camping at Kumu Camp.
