Circle Island NACHO TOUR: Cinnamon's at Ilikai Breakfast Nachos and Friday Night Debauchery

The moment we met we knew that the 3 of us together was trouble, in all the best ways. Carly and Leah came to spend the night with me on their second to last night on Oahu and the eve of our Circle Island Nacho Tour. They had spent the week on West Side at a family resort and were ready to see what the city was like. We made each other promise that we would be home by midnight so we could get up nice and early and accomplish all the adventures we set out to do AND not feel like poo poo while doing so. After checking out the street art in Kakaako, we headed to Waikiki for a small kine pub crawl: Arnold's, Rivals, Wang Chungs, and Kelly's. It was one of those nights where every single bar had fun energy and good people. I honestly don't know how we made it home like we promised and only about an hour past our goal.

Throughout the night we discussed our game plan for the Circle Island Nacho Tour and debated just how many nachos three girls could eat if they shared the smallest portion in one day of adventures. We settled on five. To accomplish this, we began super early (7am) at Cinnamon's at the Ilikai because they have breakfast nachos. I love breakfast nachos. More restaurants should do breakfast nachos. Ideally I think they should have some eggs, breakfast meat, veggies, cheese (duh), jalapenos, and to make them magical, white country gravy (like the kind you put on biscuits and gravy). I have made these before and they are so delicious. It's like a breakfast burrito but instead of in a tortilla, it's on some chips.

Breakfast Nachos ($11.75) - Corn tortilla chips topped with scrambled eggs, diced green chiles, tomatoes, olives, green onions & cheddar cheese. Served with sour cream & salsa. Add bacon, link, or portugese sausage for $2.25

Leah (3.5) - PRESENTATION: Scrambled eggs, portugues sausage, cheese, sliced green onions, real shredded cheese, olives. RAD: The view, fresh ingredients. LAME: Needs more spice/heat. Toppings aren't layered enough. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 1:2, more chips than toppings. The view of the marina is spectacular.

Carly (4) - PRESENTATION: Breakfast nachos what?!? Excellent presentation with eggs, chips, olives. RAD: Breakfast nachos! Homemade chips. LAME: Needs spice, salt. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4.5, great ratio. Excellent service.

Shananigans (3.5) - PRESENTATION: Loving the eggs I see! Nachos for breakfast is a dream come true. RAD: Green chiles should be on more nachos, loving the flavor pop they add. Homemade chips always win. Olives make me happy. I love baked cheese. LAME: No spice, the real cheese makes all the chips come up as one. Someone invent a solution to this! TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, good layering, cheese all over the plate. Just what I needed after a night out on the town. They have tots?!  Can we substitute chips for tots and make breakfast TOTCHOS?

Those of us who weren't driving were appreciative of some Irish coffees

You can't come to Cinnamon's without trying the pancakes...

Please enjoy some photos of our night on the town...
