Wahoos Fish Tacos (Ward) NACHO NIGHT

From the moment Ashly came to her first nacho night, she wanted the Nacho Friends to try the nachos at Wahoos since she used to go there all the time.  A few of us headed over a little early and were pleasantly surprised to find a happy hour that included $8 pitchers of beers like Dos Equis and Pacifico.  They also had $8 nachos on happy hour.  Non-happy hour nachos are $6.99-11.99, depending on the meat you choose.  These happy hour nachos were $8 including your choice of spicy/regular chicken, fish or pork.  We snagged a couple of tables outside and sipped on cerveza as the nacho friends trickled in.  Katie finally was on island for a real nacho night since the last one she attended we arrived to a changed menu with no more nachos on it.  And we welcomed Tyler and Glenn as first time nacho bloggers.  At Wahoos, you stand in line to order and then they deliver your food to you at your table.  The system worked out pretty good since our group tends to arrive sporadically.  It was a nice restaurant with a pretty good happy hour and live music on some nights.

Sour cream, guac and salsa come standard on the side.  Chips, cheese, meat and beans on the plate. 

Traci (4, great HH deal!) - Pork:  Lots of cheese!  Fish:  Buried in cheese, fish not "spicy but good still.  Sour cream, guac and salsa on the side (good for sharing) RAD: Choice of meat and choice of beans (black or spicy white or both) and lots & lots of cheese. LAME: No beef option, salsa was ok, could have been more flavorful. T:C Ratio=5, so much cheese!  Seriously!  Plenty of guac, sour cream and salsa for the whole plate.  Food came out quickly.  Everyone loved the $8 pitchers!  Outside was comfy and fun.

Mario (4) - Good with tons of cheese. RAD: Fish nachos is kind of healthy, LOL. LAME: Happy hour is too short, should end at 8pm. T:C Ratio=5.  Love the Hawaiian feel, hot and humid, LOL.

Ashley (4.5) - Cheesy!!!!! Oh yea + some more cheese. RAD: They are pretty big + enough to share. LAME: Could use onions, or something else.  Not enough guac and sour cream. T:C Ratio=4, lots-o-toppings.  Cool people work here, they were really nice.

Tyler (3.75) - Tons of cheese, not a lot of sour cream or guac. RAD: Amount of cheese was awesome! Chicken was moist and great. LAME: Chips kinda soggy, not enough toppings to compete with the cheese. T:C Ratio=3, I love the cheese, BUT not enough beans and meat.  Atmosphere was great, service behind the counter was alright.

Didio (4.5) - Lot of cheese!!! RAD: Salsa, jalapenos (brought out by request late). LAME: Happy hour over at 7!. T:C Ratio=4.  Definitely worth the price!.

Katie (5 :)) - Soooooooo much cheeeezzzze! RAD: Spicy chicken is both spicy and delicious. LAME: We missed happy hour, soo much cheese I couldn't find the chicken. T:C Ratio=Lots-o-toppings, lots-o-beans.  .

Shananigans (3.5) - Large plate piled with tons of real cheese. RAD: Holy cheesy cheeseness, and real cheese too.  2 kinds of beans a total bonus. LAME: No spice, could use olives, onions, etc. as more toppings. T:C Ratio=4.75, chips smothered in cheese…so much cheese you couldn't find the toppings underneath.  It is always nice to sit outside, but since there were no trades we were so humid and hot.  Should have sat inside.  Staff super friendly.

Don Frijoles (3.14, that's a big nacho pie) - Cheesetastic so much cheese couldn't see the toppings by my mouth assured me they were there. RAD: Happy hour nachos prices are great, fresh jalapenos on demand, great service. LAME: Where are the jalapenos?  Never mind, just had to ask.  "I could not cut the cheese.". T:C Ratio=4, mucho queso.  My god there is so much cheese.  Dios mio demasiad queso.

Andy Cowabunga (3, 2 thumbs up but any meal with nachos that's a given) - Kraft's got nothing on these nachos….they're the cheesiest RAD: Definitely a place with fish tacos in the name must have good fish…and it doesn't disappoint. LAME: There are a few things that are good when moist…chips are not one of them. T:C Ratio=3, good ration, cheese is taking over the plate!  Service is fast.  Atmosphere is like a fast food place but it’s not about the place.

Katia (4) - Nice and cheesy!  Happy hour prices. RAD: Outside seating!!!! Cheesy!!  Two kine beans. LAME: Need extra side plates maybe, nacho coma. T:C Ratio=5, so much queso so ono!!!  Great atmosphere, like the style of service (good for nacho groups).
