Pupukea Grill - North Shore Nachos

Ashley, Mario, Katie and I headed up to the North Shore to do some diving and snorkeling.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day on the North Shore.  We popped in the water at Three Tables and then met our friends Taylor and Andy at Andy's house down the street.  There was a party at Waimea so while Shley and Katie were diving for a couple hours we walked down and enjoyed the absolutely perfect conditions at Waimea Bay.  The water was like glass and so clear.  The sun was shining and some kids even made a slip n slide down the side of the beach into the water.  We were starving after some fun in the sun so decided to have some impromptu nachos at the Pupukea Grill.  There are lots of options, but the service is kinda weird.  Hard to say that they were rude specifically, just weird.  Like they didn't care about what we wanted to say, they just talked over us as we placed the order. Andy specifically ordered his without onions since he is allergic, but they still let him order the fish which is cooked with onion in it.  So he had to get a new one when they came out.  And don't lose your receipt, they will not give you your food unless you hand them your receipt!  Other than the weird service, the food is made quickly, the view is great, just across from the ocean and lovely little tables to sit on.

Shananigans (3.75) - Kalua pork, toppings piled on. RAD: Option for real cheese or nacho cheese, generous portions of meat. LAME: Not spicy, no beans, ghetto chips. T:C Ratio=3.75, Covered with toppings but some chips empty on the bottom.  Great outdoor seating, love all the wave pics, and the view of the ocean across the street.  Service was a little rude though.

Shley (2.5) - Very nice colors RAD: Piled high with toppings. LAME: Needed both shredded and nacho cheese, avocado extra and no guacamole. T:C Ratio=3.  Service was bad, wouldn't give any H2O for cup, had to buy bottled water.

Katie (4) - Very pretty first impression, lots of color on the top.  :) RAD: The Valentia sauce was bombastic on top. LAME: They messed up Andy's nachos. T:C Ratio=Lots of toppings on top, not much on the bottom.  Rhianna on BLAST!  The chicken quesadilla was delish.

Dustin (2.5) - Stacked and crazy cheesy! RAD: Fish nachos?!. LAME: Could nuke cheese the same way at home. T:C Ratio=Bottom chips lacking.  Flies everywhere. 

Andy Cowabunga (Would be a 4, but the service knocks it down to a 2.5, they are weirdos) - The man in the boat is tall and long!  O my sour cream! RAD: Chicken was so freesh it tasted like they killed one of the wild chickens roaming around.. LAME: Ahi only comes with onions!  WTF. T:C Ratio=3, but you're sort of left with a mound of dry chips at the end.  Good food when you are moist from the beach.
