WTH? uncooked globs of cheese just falling off the chips when you try to eat |
Katie (5) - OMG! So tall and full looking! RAD: Kalua pig was super moist. LAME: Dry chips on the chicken nachos. T:C Ratio=4 for the pig and beef, 2 for the chicken. I think these are my favorite nachos so far!
aftermath no bueno |
Sherry (2.5) - Awesome service, friendly waiter. RAD: Huge plate - looks impressive when they put it down in front of you, but upon further inspection, NOT. More like a Monet, pretty from a far, disappointing up close. LAME: Looks like a taco salad, not enough queso, clumpy cheese. T:C Ratio=3.5, lots of toppings.
traci's face is the best in this pic! |
Lindsey (3, smack in the middle, not terrible but not great…nacho the best) - Presentation was good at first but not very logistic. While the pile was high, it was like playing a game of jenga in the 80s to not spill entire thing. Solution = A bigger plate. RAD: Toppings were plentiful and included sour cream and guac! This was rad. LAME: Lame lettuce, this should have been shredded to smaller pieces so it fits on a chip. I would have appreciated this shred for a perfectly constructed bite. T:C Ratio=2, while toppings were plentiful, they were placed on top as opposed to a layered effect. Layer effect would have gotten at least one more point on the T:C scale. Service was good. Server was very laid back and we liked him even if he wears a grass skirt and a polo.
Bethie (3, I would probably order again.) - It was pretty nice. However the lettuce was a turnoff. RAD: LOVED seeing the ice cream scoop of guac on the nachos. LAME: Again I am not a fan of lettuce. If I wanted to be healthy I would have gone to Aloha Salads. T:C Ratio=3ish, we have some chips left over here. However, the hula skirt wearing server offered us extra salsa ahead of time. He knew what was going to happen… The price is more than I would hope for. Chicken and pig was my fav. Wasn't a fan of the beef. The place was fun and the server was totes relax. Liked him.
Traci (Kalua Pig-3.5, Chicken-3, Ground Beef-2.5) - Piled high, looks like a taco salad on chips. RAD: Crunchy chips, comes w/sour cream and guac, pico de gallo has good flavor and heat, real cheese, kalua pig was the best meat. LAME: Lower chips look empty, extra salsa wasn't as good as the pico de gallo. Beef and Chicken were kinda bland. T:C Ratio=3.5, too much lettuce-it kept falling off. Good variety of toppings only beef had beans. Globs of cheese and some unmelted spots. Staff was awesome! Attentive and helpful.
Erica (3.4) - N/A, arrived too late for presentation RAD: Men in skirts. LAME: Hard to find via GPS. T:C Ratio=3. Atmosphere is a bit touristy, but not unbearable. Service was good. Sean is friendly and wearing a skirt.
Toppings include: meat (kalua pig, chicken, ground beef with beans), colby jack pico, jalapenos, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. |
Shananigans (2.5, lackluster toppings) - Piled high! RAD: Beans on the meat ones, real cheese, jalapenos. LAME: Chips were not cooked properly, kinda chewy. Ground beef had little to no flavor. T:C Ratio=2.75, piled high, but makes too much mess when you try to eat. And lots of empty chips underneath. Our server, Sean was super cool and attentive.
Philip (2.4) - Mountainous, everything piled on top mountain of chips. RAD: Guacamole was fantastic. LAME: Chips are a bit stale, not enough cheese. T:C Ratio=3, 60 chip 40 topping. Good service and fun décor.
Zulma (5) - Lotsa lotsa toppings, generous guacamole and sour cream RAD: Tomatoes seemed very fresh. LAME: The beef is ground and they forgot to give us plates. T:C Ratio=5. Fun, average service.
