Islands NACHO NIGHT!

Originally we had planned to have Italian Nachos at Macaroni Grill, but when I called to make reservations, I found out that they do not have the nachos at the Hawaii location.  Sad panda.  So we moved it to Islands across the way at Ala Moana Mall.  I called to make reservations for 6-8 people but they said they only take reservations for 8 or more.  Since I did not have a for-sure count, I told her I would confirm and then call back.  When I called back a couple hours later, the manager told me they could not take a reservation for 8 because they already had some and it was walk-in only.  I was confused but whatever.  Luckily upon arrival, the staff was super friendly and changed the sour taste I had.  Our server, Andrew, was hilarious and we got to sit in a big booth!  We welcomed a couple new nacho friends for their first time blogging and enjoyed some pretty decent nachos.  At first the salty chips were delicious in the mouth, but it turned out to be too much salt.  The more you ate...the more prominent the salt.  Islands has happy hour 4pm to 7pm but you have to sit in the bar to get the deals.  Another wonderful nacho night with nacho friends.  :)

Katie (3) - Beautiful looking, spicy chicken/bean nachos tasted better, but the chili nachos had more cheese. RAD: I loved hitting the big globs of cheese in the middle. LAME: Not enough guac/sour cream. T:C Ratio=4, most chips were covered but a few at the bottom were blank.  Andrew was the bomb and had a wicked sense of humor.

Traci (3.5=Chili, good but not amazing/4=chicken was better!) - Look and smell delicious! RAD: Real, melty cheese.  I like the diced tomatoes, spicy chicken is tasty!  Guac is flavorful and fresh, fresh cilantro. LAME: Chili was just ok.  Not a huge fan of jalapenos.  Some chips got soggy…boo. T:C Ratio=3.5, pretty covered.  Some empty chips, but they could be dipped in the salsa.  Lots of meat and chili for the extra cost, coulc use more guac.  Serve Andrew was great!  Drinks were delicious and we had a nice big table

Lindsey (3, this is generous…chips were etremely greasy and tasty at first then you lost me.) - Smell of nachos was divine when they approached the table. RAD: Saltiest chips ever = LOVE!  I love salt. LAME: Wait, I changed my mind about the salt.  Too much salt=Lame.  Tongue is shrinking up mouth.  Need water. T:C Ratio=3, Almost too many toppings for amount of chips.  May need more chips to even out.  Server was good times.  Posed for pics for the blog…good attitude and fun.  Liked him.

Samuél (spoken with a spanish accent) (3.52-also my college GPA) - Full of flavors, colors, and toppings, excellent presentation, looks fresh. RAD: The Drinks!  The Big Island Iced Tea was excellent. LAME: A little salty - but not as salty as Mit Romney - he's REALLY salty. T:C Ratio=Toppings saved these bowls of salt.  Nacho card is the first card in my new wallet.

Tom (4) - Wow!  They look amazing! RAD: The delicious smell. LAME: Not enough guac. T:C Ratio=4.  Andrew was pretty cool (until Shannon told him it was a taco burrito conversation…nachos), cool decorations.

Shananigans (4) - Large pile of chips on a big plate covered in toppings and real cheese. RAD: You could really taste the fresh cilantro in the guacamole, lots of jalapenos. LAME: The chips were a bit too salty.  They messed up Andy's order again…he's alergic to onions.. T:C Ratio=4.5, generous toppings and very few empty chips.  Server Andrew was super funny and made us all laugh.  I wished I had had a little more water because of the salty chips.

Cowabunga (4, the chips don't get damp as they get old) - I like the giant gecko above the table…it looks like the one that lives behind my refridgerator. RAD: Chicken is moist as snack cake…all mildewy!!. LAME: Did I order a salty dog shot?  I think my blood pressure increased!  The more you eat, the worse it gets. T:C Ratio=4, perfection.  Service is awesome.  And Andrew the waiter has style…and a good name
