Big City Diner

Traci's brother-in-law was in town so we had a little nacho get together at the Big City Diner. 

Rob: (2) Very colorful, plenty of olives.  RAD : It looked tasty.  The table knew what a dirty sanchez is.  LAME : I don't like olives.  It was luke warm.  The cab driver dropped me off 2 blocks away and said it was just right there.  Topping to Chip Ratio : Plenty of toppings, it could have had more cheese.    

Nacho Daddy: (3, but it's my first nacho night and I may be being harsh) Large plate with loads of toppings made for a great 1st impression.  Onions, green onions, corn, roasted pepper and SO MUCH OLIVE, chili once you get to it.  RAD : The chili is amazing once you drill down to it.  LAME : No heat….at all.  Nachos = jalapenos people.  Non melted cheese.  Immediate exposure of naked chips.  (When asked for heat though, they did bring freshly sliced jalapenos.)  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4.5, not a bad mix once you move things around.  Servers were awesome and talkative for what we were doing. 

Shananigans: (3.5, lots of toppings but lackluster in flavor) Lots of olives on top, fresh cheese, good size plate.  Right away can see the amateur mistake numero uno…the cheese is not melted!  RAD : Olives, real cheese, tri color chips, corn.  Ranch dipping sauce is unique.  LAME : No spice whatsoever.  The waitress was super nice though and the kitchen sliced us up a fresh jalapeno.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4, had to scoop toppings onto the chips because the cheese was not melted to hold them together, but there were a lot of toppings for the chips.  The waitress was super friendly.  The lihing margarita was yummy, but a bit too sweet for me.

Nachismo Nate: (2.5) Lots of veggies, but no HOT SAUCE!  RAD : Ask and they give you fresh jalapenos.  LAME : Very bland, needed the jalapenos for flavor.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4.5, damn good, good cheese.  Young crew. 

Nacho Libra: (2.5, lots of toppings but surprisingly lacked flavor.  But I appreciate the real cheese!) Large plate, colorful, comes with ranch-ranch on nachos?  RAD : Chili with corn and peppers and olives, good variety of toppings.  LAME : Non-melted cheese-boo!  No guac or sour cream.  Not a fan of the chili.  Jarred salsa sucks.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3.5, lots of toppings and I like the fresh veggies.
