Da Big Kahuna

Turns our there is a whole gang of us nacho lovers born in March. We had a nacho birthday nacho night at Da Big Kahuna. Apologies for taking so long to write this but I went thru some DRAMA with a boy.  Things are getting back to normal now and nacho nights will be back on track. I had to drink a fish bowl big myself. This is not an easy task. And what the fuck why are there no little fishies in the bowl anymore? That was my favorite part! My friends made the night especially amazing. Traci made the most epic cupcakes in all the land...they were little nacho supremes. And since the nacho night was not technically on any of our actual birthdays, we had these shirts that said, "nacho birthday" on them. Nacho friends are the best friends.

Melynne: (3) They made these NACHOS fast…is that good or bad?  Toppings are deceiving…all on the top.  RAD : Nacho cheese….taste like ballpark cheese…my fav!  BONUS RAD = Traci's cupcakes.  LAME : Not enough people to eat these nachos.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3.5, because the meat toppings and cheese were not enough for the last of the chips but came with plenty side toppings of guac, sour cream and salsa.  Meat was bland but cheese was good and plenty to share.  These would be better if you were drunk.  Happy birthday Nacho Girls!  Super LAME no fishys in the fishbowl.

Bryan: (2.5) Look good, could use more toppings.  RAD : Pork was pretty rad.  LAME : Lame ball park nacho cheese.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 2, definitely low on toppings.

Its' Nacho Business: (3) Dig in!  Quick Service.  I like all the extra guac and sour cream.  RAD : Three choise:  chicken, pork and pork chilli, though "eh."  LAME : Parking is hard to find.  The sauces got watery and looked unappetizing halfway through.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3, the chips on the bottom were bare.  Nacho cupcakes = 5.  Good topping to chip ratio and excellent presentation!

Nacho Libra: (2.5) Quick service!  In deep bowls, not plates.  RAD : Love the extra bowl of sour cream, guac and salsa, means enough for all!  Kalua pork always makes me happy!  LAME : No real cheeese.  No beans.  Cheese sauce has no flavor.  Neither do the chips or any of it really.    Topping to Chip Ratio : 3, lots of empty chips, the bowl of salsa becomes necessary.  Variety and amount of toppings was good, but the eerie lack of flavor turned me off.  Staff was attentive and helpful.

 

Shananigans: (3) Come in a big bowl piled high.  RAD : Lots of jalapenos, black olives.  LAME : Guac not fresh and tastes yucky.  Nacho cheese, not real cheese and not enough of it at that.  NO FISH in my fishbow.  WTF?  Topping to Chip Ratio : 2.5, bottom chips are bare.  Super friendly staff and attentive.  Greeted at door by manager giving out coupons for $2 mai tais or free french fries.
