Impromptu rainy day nachos at Biba's

We had plans to spend the weekend in the sun, but Mother Nature did not cooperate with us.  Instead she down poured vast amounts of rain all day...all fucking day.  Since we could not go fun and sun it at the beach, we headed to the Hale Koa to meet up with a friend that was visiting.  It just so happened the place had nachos on the menu.  The price was $9.95 and they came with chips, cheese, chili, jalapenos, sour cream, guacamole and salsa.  One of the ladies at the table loves nachos as much as us (who doesn't love nachos?) so she joined us in our nacho connoisseuring.

The rain was never ending so Tom and I wore these magnificent hats to keep the rain off of us while we walked the streets of Waikiki.

James is an old friend from Carson City that I met way back when I was 21 and his mom is equally awesome.

One of the smaller portions of nachos I have seen.  Easily eaten by one person
Shananigans (2.75): Not a very big plate, but looks like fresh ingredients (real cheese and quac doesn't look like it came out of a bag frozen).  RAD: Jalapenos, real cheese, beans.  LAME:  Small portions and the wetness of the chili made for soggy chips right away.  Topping to Chip Ratio:  3.5, lots of toppings on top, some empty chips on bottom, sogginess made it hard to eat without utensils (which we had none of).
Nacho virgin!
Tomtastic (2.5): Pleasant though average.  No grandeur, but not sloppy either.  It's nachos.  RAD: Oasis during a rain shower, good company, as always. LAME:  I can't tell if there is meat in these or not??  Topping to Chip Ratio: 2.5, amateur distribution.  Only one type of cheese?  Acceptable, but not worthy.
Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom
Cherbo (3.5) - Ok size, good chips, sour cream and quac blobs.  RAD: Chili flavored beans, crunchy chips, good amount of guac!  LAME: Pickled jalapenos.  Topping to Chip Ratio:  3, uneven topping coverage but enough on plate.
So cheesy!

Empty bottom chips...

The aftermath

Aloha James!  Here's to many more years of fun all over the world with you.  :)
