We had a couple hours to kill before we boarded our plane at the Kauai airport so we popped into Mea Inu Beach Bar & Grill for some drinks. They had a nacho style dish in the pupus so I thought, "what the heck?" The entire menu actually looked quite tasty and if we weren't so full from brunch, I am sure we would have ordered more. They proudly boast on the menu that they offer fresh, all-natural, local farm grown, sustainable products. Woo woo. At first glance, we were not really expecting much. It just looked like two kinds of chips and two bowls to dip in. Immediately you could see the chips were just made, fresh to order and that was a good sign. Amy and Byron tried and had nothing bad to say either. Simple, fresh ingredients = awesome.

Tropi-Guac & Hawaiian Cheesy Dip - $9.99: Mango guacamole, blue corn chips, smoked ham pineapple cheese dip, wonton chips |
Shananigans: (4) Fresh chips, doesn't look like much first off. RAD: You can really taste the smoked ham in the queso and the mango in the guac. LAME: There is no spice! TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, you make your own ratio so you cannot complain too much. Simple, yet so flavorful. All the flavors mesh together perfectly. Bland look is definitely deceiving for the tasty explosion that happens when you put it in your mouth. Val, the bartender, was awesome! Super friendly and awesome service!
