Surrender Bar and Grill

The gang headed to Surrender Bar and Grill on Keeaumoku to check out some delicious looking nachos we had seen posted on Instagram recently.  Unfortunately we picked the one night they were installing all their TVs so there was absolutely no seating except for at the bar.  This did not deter the nacho connoisseurs from having a most splendid of evening and devouring many plates of nachos.  It also happened to be one of our larger groups which made bellying up to the bar even more fun.  The nacho friends swapped chair time to nosh on the super yummy nachos.  Donna, our bartender was extremely sweet and took great care of us.  The nachos were some of  the best we have had on a while with all kinds of flavor explosions in the mouth.  The lime was definitely a big hit with all.  The bar looks pretty cool too, once all the TVs are installed.

Nacho Libra (4) –  Good size for the price.  Love all the salsa on top.  Excellent flavor and the perfect size but the no melted cheese is no bueno. RAD: Lime in the salsa, the zing adds a ton of flavor.  The beef is tasty.  LAME: Unmelted cheese.  Overall, could have used more time in the oven.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4, enough toppings for all the chips.  Service was great but things felt cramped and busy because they were installing tvs and there was no seating.  And it was one of the biggest groups.  But yay for tvs!  May come to watch games.

Double Ts (4) –  Nice cream drizzle on a full plate. RAD: These nachos taste like ceviche!  Fresh lime, cilantro, onions, and $2 budlight drafts.  LAME: Bar is under constructions, parking is hit and miss.  Does this place have menus?  Topping to Chip Ratio: 3.5, some barren, some loaded, very good layering.  Very big flavor.  Not the best layout for large groups, perhaps due to construction.

Ronnie (4) –  Homemade style. RAD: Toppings on all sides.  Lime, dill, cilantro flavor.  LAME: N/A  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.  Under construction, no music :(

Surrender Bar and Grill Nachos - $8 - Chips, herbed sour cream, pico de gallo, beef

Katia (4.5) –  Beautiful@  Nice display of na-cho goodness. RAD: Like the kick! And the lime flavor.  Pico de gallo - omazing.  Jessie is also rad.  LAME: Nada thang.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.0.  Great service!  Cute bartender.  Nice atmosphere.  Easy parking if you are early.

Didio (4) –  Nice presentation.  First ones to get nachos! RAD: $2 bud lights.  Pico de gallo!  Yes!  LAME: Renovation, under construction.  No guac, no jalapeno.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 5.  Donna was great!

Amanada (4.5) –  Looks and smells great. RAD: Pico de gallo.  LAME: No jalapenos.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.5.  They could have accommodated seating better even though they're renovating.  TV guys didn't need the whole restaurant.

Danielle (4.7) – Average appearance, but love at first bite!  RAD: Everything!  Some sort of delicious lime flavor.  Lots of jalapenos.  LAME: Where is the guacamole?  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.  Best nachos of nacho night!

Tom (3.5, excellent value) –  They look great! RAD: Spicy!  Excellent salsa.  LAME: Not very cheesy.  Cold, all of the meat is on the bottom.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 5, not bad.  They can't install TVs while the bar is closed?

JCOH (3) –  Like the fancy, unique plates. RAD: Ambiance.  LAME: Menu, under works.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4, mucho.  Friendly service, under works, probably improving, but fun.

Greg (4.5) –  Could be neater, piled high is always good, toppings good. RAD: The chips were fried.  LAME: Need more tomatoes.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 2.5

Cowabunga (Solid 4) –  No chicken and no means and no menu oh my!  Not moist!  RAD: They went out of their way to find some chicken for me and make special nachos.  LAME: Herbed sour cream is good but way too much of it.  And no beans.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4, good toppings for the minimum I got on my special order.  I didn't think it would be good considering the options, but the herbed sour cream won me over.  Atmosphere is like a cool mainland bar in Colorado or something.  Love the corsets on the waitresses.

Ashton Kucher (4) – Nice, obviously fresh ingredients.  RAD: I was there.  Fluffy chips and nice flavor.  Chips stay crunchy.  LAME: Sour cream too cold and it makes the nachos cold.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.  Nice peeps and good atmosphere.

Shananigans (4) –  Big plate! RAD: Flavor explosion, salsa is amazing, fresh lime, cilantro, real cheese.  LAME: Needs spice like jalapenos.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 5.  Donna was a most amazing bartender!

Jessie (4.5) –  High crispy presentation with even distribution of ingredients. RAD: It has a lime pico de gallo.  LAME: N/A.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 5.  Bartender is hot and nice, her name is Donna.

Ela (3) –  Looks delicious. RAD: White sauce.  LAME: Not cheesy enough.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 4.  Got charged for a soda water.  ;(

Don Frijoles (3) –  Chips tasty, toppings good.  Under renovations, parking sucks. RAD: Cheap drinks.  LAME: Drywall dust in drink.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 3, no jalapenos.  Chips tasty and toppings good.  No music because of renovations, too much talking.

Eric (3) –  Delicious looking! RAD: White crazy good dressing.  LAME: Lack of cheese.  Topping to Chip Ratio: 3.  Under construction :(, 3/5 service.
