It had been quite some time since I had the nachos at snappers, like over 2 years. Recently we had been hanging out there more because of the happy hour and burger madness ($6 for a burger and a beer). And they have pretty good music on Thursdays. I heard they had changed the menu and wasn't feeling a burger so I braved the nachos. During happy hour they are half off so why not? Big mistake! As soon as they were set down I knew it. The toppings were sloppily piled on mostly on one side leaving a mountain range of empty chips behind. The guacamole was brown, the meat swimming in a pool of visible grease. I was not expecting gourmet knowing they serve their food with the neon fake cheese (which I have zero qualms with), but these were sub par at a put-put golf course. The chips were stale and chewy unless they were swimming in the greasy meat pool at the front of the dish, then they were soggy and actual more edible. Needless to say I managed to eat almost half of them. Even the worst nachos are still nachos and nachos are good. Next time at Snappers, I will not be getting the nachos. It was a good thing we frequent the place too because our server disappeared for over 30 minutes. Usually we have servers that take great care of us and are always there to get us another drink or whatever we should need. This one dropped off our food and was MIA while we sat parched. Since we were in the corner, the other servers never walked by for us to catch them. When she finally came back, she checked on us a couple times but then took another ridiculous 20+ minutes to run our cards. When she appeared again, she asked us if she had already returned them to us, which she hadn't. We love going to Snappers and do so almost weekly so hopefully she is new and will improve.

Beer casualty when one person at the table got too excited talking with her hands. Both Logan and I smelled like beer for our adventure home. |
