LAHAINA EDITION: Amigos

After a long night of libations with new Lahaina friends, I enjoyed sleeping in till 10am. I can't remember the last time I did that. Continuing on with the lazy day theme, we decided to order nachos from the Mexican restaurant across the street. I picked them up and brought them back to the lanai. I might have also picked up a bottle of champagne. The nachos looked great and smelled so ono. We dived in and were pleasantly greeted with tasty marinated pork, fresh cilantro, cheesey cheese and more, all having a party smothering the salty, crispy chips. "This was a good idea," I thought to myself.

PRESENTATION: it's hard to make something look good in a styrofoam box, these were no exception. Lots of fresh toppings piled high. Sour cream, Guac and salsa served on the side. RAD: Al pastor is so fucking good. The cheese is super stretchy heaven, not the Neo-glow nacho cheese soup sauce. Fresh cilantro always kicks nachos up to the next level. LAME: definite lack of spice. The sides of house made hot salsa help, but not enough for this caliente chica. The chips are thin so any with toppings get instantly soggy, especially with the humid from being shut up in a damn styrofoam container. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: More toppings than available chips, had to bust a fork out. Nice and messy just the way I like it. I managed to get nacho toppings on my nose and chin at one point. OVERALL: 4.25, love the Al pastor and these are some seriously good nachos. I don't know if the other meats would be so good. As josh puts it, "the marinated pork is really marinating up those nachos."

And now we go to the beach...maybe later some TOTCHOS.

$10.99 with the Al pastor :)
