LAHAINA EDITION: Lahaina Sports Bar

After an afternoon of relaxing at the beach and drinking cocktails, we headed over to Lahaina Sports Bar because they had not just nachos, but TOTCHOS.  Apologies in advance for the crappy photos, but the lighting in there sucked.  Some sort of UFC fight was playing on TV that seemed to be a big deal. I had never heard of any of the dudes so went for the underdog from Brazil.  He ended up winning which was cool. I was just glad we did not have to pay to get in because of the fight.  We ordered some drinks and awaited the nacho fantasticness.  The bartender, Idol, was super rad and took great care of us.

PRESENTATION: Both piled high with fresh ingredients and it looks like a mix of real cheese and saucy cheese.  Looks ooey gooey and messy.  RAD: I love the two kinds of cheese.  At first I thought it was covered with a bunch of unmelted cheese, but then you see that's just sprinkled on top and it melts into the cheese sauce while you eat them.  There is bacon on the totchos...YES!  LAME: the tater tots were a little undercooked so they fell apart immediately.  When you use taters instead of chips, you need to make sure they are cooked nice and crisp to hold up to the toppings.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4.7, so much gooey goodness you need a fork.   OVERALL: 3.5, everything I expected and more from a sports bar.  I could do a lot of pau hanas at this place.

$11 Kalua Pork Nachos

$13 Totchos

Idolene, the amazing
