Ryan's

A small group of us got together for some pau hana nachos at Ryan's. Nachos at Ryan's are not cheap and they are sadly not on the happy hour menu.  Luckily Traci had a Groupon which made it nice and cheap per person. During Happy Hour (3-7pm and 9pm-close) you can get $5 glasses of wine which I was stoked about since I was going to see Jurassic World after nachos.  The nachos were devoured in minutes, slowing down only to rotate the plates occasionally so everyone at the table could try each kind. Our server, Sean, was very attentive to our table and kept my wine glass nice and full.

Roberto: (4, but only 'cause of the pork) Too much sour cream.  LOTS of meat.  RAD : Delicious pork.  Delicious beef.  Delicious chicken.  LAME : Kinda salty.  NOT a lot of cheese.  Needs more volcano spice.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3, needs work.  Nice place.

Tequila Cat: (3.5) Looks like a mountain of goodness.  RAD : Three different meats, marinated tomatoes.  LAME : Too much sour cream for me.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 3.5, a few more toppings.  Jalapenos never hurt.  Cool place, first timer here.

Nacho Libra: (3.5, pretty tasty but pricey.  Perfect with a groupon though) Lots of toppigns.  RAD : Real cheese!  I like the spicy pepper jack.  The black bean salsa is unique, I like it!  House made chips.  LAME : Some unmelted cheese deeper in.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 5, not many empty chips, plenty of toppings to scoop up.  Service was awesome!

Awesome Sauce: (4, I would have it again) Nicely done.  Well covered and distributed.  I wanted all three.  RAD : The meat was all ono kine.  The tomato salsa was also amazing.  LAME : I wanted more.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4, almost right!  Happy hour…always fun!

Shananigans: (4) Huge piles!  Loads of sour cream on top and a bunch of toppings.  RAD : There is a tangy flavor that comes from somewhere that is unique and wonderful.  Real cheese is the best.  The tomatoes are soooo good, like so good they could go on a bruschetta.  LAME : No spiciness.  Not on happy hour menu.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4.5, almost perfect.  There are some empty chips underneath, but you need these to scoop up the extra toppings.  It made me smile to see everyone eating nachos with chopsticks without even giving it a thought.  Tortilla chips are house made.  Our server Sean was awesome and took great care of us.   

Nacho Ryan: (4) Large plate of deliciously stacked nachos.  Looks like appropriate amounts of toppings to chips.  RAD : House made chips and black bean salsa.  LAME : Too much sour cream.  Topping to Chip Ratio : 4, there were great proportions of toppings and lots of all stuff.  Great service and very helpful waiter.
