Second City Nachos in Chicago - MAINLAND EDITION

Brandy and I planned our train trip for over a year.  There were so many routes and activities to plan ahead of time because if we waited till the last minute, tickets would be sold old.  Second City was one of these activities.  We bought tickets months in advance for the night we arrived to Chicago.  Both of us had always wanted to see a comedy show at Second City so we were beyond stoked.  Little did we know that the Cubs who had not won the World Series in 108 years would come back and bring the series to Game 7 and Game 7 would be the same night as our tickets to Second City.  I mean seriously who could have predicted that?

We headed to the show and I really did try to enjoy it.  We ordered nachos and fancy yummy drinks.  We had awesome seats. It was super funny.  But I could not keep my mind off the game. I was checking my phone as much as I could, trying not to be rude.  At intermission I said, "Fuck it.  I can always come back to Chicago and go to another show."  This Cubs game is once in a lifetime.  So I hopped in an cab back to Billy's and watched the game with him drinking gatorade martinis.  Brandy and Laura stayed behind and ended up catching the end of the game at a bar near their hotel.  What an experience!  Extra innings, rain delay, so much excitement.  When the Cubs finally won, I couldn't believe it.  We ran laps around the couch in the apartment and joined the neighborhood in lighting off firecrackers.  We rented bicycles from the kiosk down the street and road to the city.  Everyone was celebrating.  I've never seen a city so alive.  I am so grateful to have been there for this experience and I will never forget it.

The nachos were pretty good too.

Fully loaded nachos $12 - queso sauce, black beans, pico, jalapenos, sour cream
Hey ladies!

Brandy (Good) - PRESENTATION: Looks good for bar food.  Come in a cute bowl with toppings all around.  RAD: Cheese sauce!  & salsa!  LAME: Chips are weak and break easily.  Bowl is kind of hard to eat out of.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, a lot of toppings but they don't stay on the chip. Cheese sauce was really good as well as the salsa.  Just didn't like eating out of the bowl.

Shananigans (3.75) - PRESENTATION: Cute little bowl and the most perfect ball of sour cream in the middle.  Fresh jalapenos instead of pickled ones, my favorite!  RAD: ghetto cheese sauce, black beans, huge ass dollop of sour cream.  Holy shit I am at Second City in Chicago.  LAME: Chips have no stamina, but they are tasty.  I hate tomatoes.  WTF why is game 7 going on at this very time.  I cannot be at two places at once.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO:  3.2, everything falls to the bottom of the bowl so you need a fork or a buttload of napkins.  A step up from 7-11 with the fresh jalapenos and black beans but the cheese is still the same.

Hard to eat this sloppy mess with your fingers...not impossible just not pretty
