Stinger Rays in the Honolulu Airport

At the same time #ericsepicoahuadventure came to an end and he was headed to Maui to meet up with his family, my high school buddy was getting married on Maui.  So we booked the same flight to adventure over together.  We arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare and popped in for a drink at Stinger Rays.  Seeing nachos on the menu and an empty belly (except for the champagne), I asked if he wanted to share some nachos for lunch.  We sipped on our yummy ginger drinks and savored the nacho flavors while reminiscing on our adventures during his visit. It was a pretty epic visit filled with hikes, snorkeling, sunburns, sunsets, tide pools, cocktails, shrimpies, floating, cocktails and more. We made friends with the local man next to us from the Big Island and Eric and him talked a lot about diving and fishing.  I love airports and meeting people in airports.  Usually people are pretty happy, especially at the bar.  For me I am either headed on a vacation, or headed home to Hawaii, neither of which suck.

The nachos were pretty standard but the flavors were more than expected. I really enjoyed the queso sauce but there just wasn't enough of it. Story of my life!  Why are people so stingy with the queso?

Nachos - $14 - Charred jalapeno cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, avocado lime crema
Add kalua pork or island spcied chicken $4

Shananigans (3) - PRESENTATION: Big plate, sauces are sparkling with flavor specks, I cannot eat all this.  RAD: Guac has great flavor, we are headed to Maui, green sauce is yummy, queso is yummy, Eric is my favorite.  LAME: Black beans would be perfect on these!  Where are the beans?  Needs more spice!  Not enough cheese for the mountain of chips they give you.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 2, all the toppings are tasty but there is a serious chip graveyard under the first layer.  Good flavor combinations, the bestest of company, vacation let's go!  Friendly smiles from everyone all around.  I love Hawaii!

Big Island homie behind Eric

Swell Miguel (2.5) - PRESENTATION: Curious about white sauce.  Flex going on.  Looks like toppings only on top with possible high chip to topping ratio.  Guac looks like bird doodoo on nachos.  RAD: Cilantro white sauce kinda tasty!  Pork is good.  Cheese really good. LAME: Not layered, small amount of topping to chip ratio.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 2.5, small chunks tomoato sitting on top of cheese topped with small amount of pork and guac. Great service, low key, chill vibe.

Look at all those sad empty chips just craving some attention from some tasty toppings.

Where all the toppings at?

Cocktails!

Hand painted, one of a kind, pink flamingo shirts we wore to the pink flamingo party

Clutching his arm for dear life...I hate heights.

Probably one of the most beautiful sunsets ever ever.

Never ending Hawaii beauty
