Nachos in Paradise: The Fox Brewpub MAINDLAND EDITION: Carson City, NV

I arrived in my hometown at 10am on the 4th of July and was immediately handed a glass of champagne. Yes! This was going to be a fabulous vacation. I was craving Mexican food and wanted to eat all the tacos that Nevada had. Unfortunately, it was the 4th of July so there were not a lot of places open. We finally found The Fox Brewpub in downtown Carson City. My favorite lady just happened to be working and got to be our server. When we saw they had Irish Nachos on the menu, we had to try them out. It's rare that the three of us get together and ever pass on eating nachos and Desiree is always eager to contribute her wit to the blog. Irish nachos aren't really nachos, basically potatoes with bacon, sour cream, onions, and cheese. We aren't the nacho police, if you put the word nacho in the name, we will happily eat them. Especially if it has bacon.

They came out quickly and were super yummy. After eating them we decided to re-name them Nacho Ordinary Deconstructed Loaded Baked Potato, or something like that. Although not a traditional "nacho," they totally met the exceptions from the description on the menu. We all agreed that they lacked any spice. Adding some jalapenos would really kick these up a notch. And maybe some fresh veggies like cauliflower or zucchini chips to add some unique variety of more interesting toppings (don't touch the bacon, leave the bacon, if anything add more bacon). We gave them an overall rating of 4, non-traditional nachos, but advertised as such.

After our bellies were full, we headed back to the house to celebrate the 4th of July. We listened to records and had a most epic water balloon fight in the front yard with our favorite friends. I hadn't been home in the summer since I moved away 8 years ago. This was indeed a special treat. Thank you Nevada for always welcoming me home with open arms and always showing me the best time ever.
