We were sad when Lola's shut down, but not for long because now they have a new place, Study Hall Sports Bar & Grill! We headed over on a Saturday afternoon to take advantage of the happy hour from 3pm to 7pm:
$3-4 pints
$8-11 pitchers
$3.75 wells
$3.75 house wine & champagne
$6 loaded fries, $7 totchos and a bunch more food
Initially we were just there for the totchos, but when I saw the loaded fries, I asked the server what was on them and the first ingredient she listed was nacho cheese so that totally counts.
When the totchos came out, everyone was immediately impressed by the dish they were served in. Almost every single person made a comment about the dish. Who knew all it took to impress us was to have an oblong shaped bowl with pretty designs on it. Maybe it was because we have seen so many plates of nachos/totchos come out in baskets with paper or other non-memorable platters. The elongated shape of the dish also allowed for the tots to be spread out and evenly covered with all the delicious toppings instead of just piled on top in the center. Right on Study Hall Sports Bar & Grill. Way to take one of the most simple pub foods and make it classy.
The shape of the serving dish was not the only thing that impressed us. Once we dove in, we realized that these totchos taste amazing, way better than other standard totchos. We discovered they had fresh garlic sprinkled on top. Why has no one done this before? The garlic kicked those flavors up a notch and changed the game. As for the loaded fries, not only were they waffle fries (a fabulous nacho cheese delivery mechanism), but they were COVERED in freshly cooked bacon. On their own, each of these "nacho" dishes are fabulous, but if you get them together you can have bacon and garlic on both!
Sadly, in a technical glitch I lost all the nacho review data so only my review still exists. If anyone wants to re-submit a review, you can at this link:

Shananigans (4.8) - PRESENTATION: Pretty! I love the long bowl Tots, love me some tots. Yay! Jalapenos! RAD: Full
of flavor surprises. That fresh garlic, fresh onion, and lots of cheese
goes so well together. The bacon on the loaded fries was high quality. LAME: No bacon on totchos, no garlic on loaded fries. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 5,
everything evenly and heavily covered and extra cheese sauce on the
bottom bowl for dipping any dry tots in. Super yummy. Simple dish but
they kicked it up a notch. Classier than you would expect. Best totchos
on the island. Ursula took amazing care of us!
