Likos Tap & Table

After The Shack shut down in Hawaii Kai, there weren't many places left to have fun at in the neighborhood. Patiently we waited for the new owners of the space to open up and finally they did! The place is completely different inside and you can hardly see the old Shack in there now. It looks fabulous!  We popped in for a couple drinks and decided to try the nachos. Even though it was a little chilly, we opted for a table outside. I loved watching everyone go by doing their various water activities. Although we didn't get to see the actual sun set, there was some lovely after glow in the sky that was very enjoyable. Once the sun went down, we headed inside to warm up.

The nachos were really good. They are probably even better with all the toppings but since I don't like tomatoes and Dusty doesn't like onions, we got those on the side. There's not a lot binding the nachos together, so the toppings do fall off pretty easily, especially the beans. These are more of scooping the fallen toppings kind of nachos for sure. We will definitely be back with all the Nacho Friends for a group outing. The homemade cheese sauce is so yummy!

Nachos $16 - Corn tortilla chips topped with house-made Mornay cheese sauce, jalapenos, black beans, tomatoes, onions, cotija, tomatillo salsa verde, lime crema, and fresh cilantro. Add carnitas or shredded chicken for $3

Dusty (4.2) - RAD: Cheese sauce, homemade chips, verde salsa, fresh jalapeño, . LAME: Could have been more cheese/toppings(we did order no meat tho). TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3.8, needs more toppings. Very good, large portion (serves 2).

Shananigans (4) - PRESENTATION: Big and beautiful. Chips look homemade. Two kinds of cheese! Fresh jalapeños but not nearly enough. RAD: Queso is yummy.love the cilantro, jalapeños, tomatillo sauce is yummy! LAME: Not enough jalapeños, the black beans just fall off the chips, a black bean paste would work better. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3.5, not a lot of toppings, pretty skimpy. Toppings are sparse on each chip, more chips are bare than covered. Good flavors and fresh but maybe some room for improvement.
