Elk's Club with Duckie Goes

On a perfect spring day, we took the boat out to the Sandbar. The water was warm and the conditions were perfect for some floating, snorkeling, and sake with my best friend Phyllis. On the way home, my friends who were kind enough to drive me back to town asked if I wanted to join them for a snack at the Elk's Club. Even though I wasn't too hungry, I had heard they had nachos so why not?  It's not everyday I have an Elk's Club member with me that will take me in. We scored a lovely table right by the water with gorgeous views of the ocean and the city. Unfortunately for us, a bunch of the staff had called out that day so there was only one dude handling the entire pool area. It took us a while to order and get our food. When it did come, it was without the kalua pork that we ordered on it. I felt for the guy having been in that situation many times in my waitressing career.  We asked them to take off the cost for the meat and they ended up comping the entire nacho order from our bill. Thank you for the service with a smile even when drowning in the weeds.

The nachos were nothing to write home about. Just your basic chips, ghetto liquid cheese, and lackluster guac and salsa. Sometimes it is more about the experience than the quality of the food when it comes to nachos. What I remember most about that day was the fabulous time with my friends and feeling so blessed to live the life I do.

You can follow the adventures of Duckie Goes on Instagram: @duckiegoes   He lives quite the life himself.

Shananigans (3) - PRESENTATION: Piled high. SOMETHING RAD: Tri-color chips. SOMETHING LAME: Forgot my meat, lack of spice, hardly any peppers. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3.5, empty chips on the bottom. Basic nachos with basic flavors. Beautiful view, beautiful friends. The server was slammed but he still smiled and took care of me when they messed my order up. Thanks dude!

I can't remember how much they were but I want to say something like $18. Which is a lot for ghetto ass nachos. Definitely paying for the view.

Even crappy nachos almost get finished LOL.
