Himalayan Kitchen

We celebrated Kate's birthday with a dinner party at Himalayan Kitchen.  One of my favorite restaurants on the island.  Everything on the menu is delicious and it's BYOB with Tamura's right across the street.  We mentioned to Suman that we started a nacho blog and it would be super cool if he could invent some Indian nachos for us someday.  To our surprise and utter enjoyment, he went back to the kitchen right then and there and created us some Indian nachos.  They were delicious.  The were served in a naan bowl with fried pieces of some sort of flour mixture as chips.  There was a yogurt sauce and the house chutney (most amazing green sauce EVER), and we weren't really sure what the rest of it was.  It didn't matter, they were tasty!

Happy Birthday Katia!

Suman delivering his creation and pointing out his hat :)

Julia (4) - RAD: Yogurt sauce is delicious!; LAME: Too much sauce to chip ratio.

Autumn (4.5) - RAD: Pretty much everything; LAME: Not the biggest fan of cucumbers, think I ate them, but didn't taste them.
Eric (3.5) - RAD: Sauce is excellently fresh and refreshing; LAME: Full of ingredients so its hard to eat and a messy eat.

Kate (4.5) - RAD: Presentation especially appealing; LAME: I didn't think anything was lame, they were amazing!

Shannon (4) - RAD: Chutney...I want to put it on everything; LAME: All the sauces made the chips soggy, but even soggy, they were still yummy.

Kelle (4) - RAD: They were all I was hoping for in Indian Nachos; LAME: Loses it's crunchiness as is the downfall of most nachos

OVERALL: (4.1) - The Indian Nachos have received the highest score yet!  We all agreed that they were fantastically delicious and there is only room for improvement.  He created them for us on the fly with no preparation.  With some thought and trials, they will be even more amazing.  Thank you Suman for being such a gracious host and a good friend.

Mahalo!
