Round Table Pizza

Janine and I met my friend Dave who is visiting from LA at Round Table where is was watching the Lakers Game.  We saw the nachos and decided to try them for the blog.  We even convinced the guy next to us (who just landed on the island yesterday) to join in on the fun. I am not a big fan of Round Table.  It's pretty expensive for non-spectacular food in my opinion, but it does have all the games on all the time, whatever the game may be.  And our bartender, Mike, is always funny and engaging.  He let us know that during Happy Hour you can get a 1/2 order of the nachos for just $5.  But like it is with most happy hours, theirs ends at 6pm which is usually when us 9-5ers can get to a place after leaving work.  Seriously who are those happy hours designed for? J9 and I were not super starving and our new friend had already eaten, so we ordered the basic nachos with no extra add-ons. 

RT Nachos - $10.95:  Tortilla chips, cheese, chili beans, tomatoes, olives, jalapenos and sour cream.  Add guacamole for $3.95.  Add chicken or kalua pork for $2.95.

J9 (3) - Almost tastes like popcorn.  RAD:  Spice in the beans is good.  LAME:  Needs more jalapenos! T:C Ratio-4.

Shananigans (3) - Baked nachos are my favorite nachos, especially topped with real cheese.  RAD: Olives are an excellent topping that should be on all nachos!  LAME:  The only hot sauce the place has is Tabasco, which in no way counts as hot sauce in my opinion.  Where's the tapatio or sriracha?  T:C Ratio-4, lots of real cheese and the beans were tasty, but there were hardly any of them.

Dan AKA Nacho Macho (3) - Doesn't like the overbaked semi-burnt chips.  RAD:  Cheese and generous sour cream is good.  LAME:  Needs meat!  T:C Ratio-3, if I was hungrier, this might have gone up.

Dave (3) - Really cheesy taste like pizza oven nachos.  RAD:  Chips are well done, browned and cooked crunchy.  LAME: No guac.  T:C Ratio- 2.5, would be awesome with Sriracha.

OVERALL:  (3) - Not the greatest nachos in all the land, but not the worst either.  Definitely would have been better with some chicken or kalua pig and the guacamole.  T:C Ratio-3.38
