Duke's with special guest nacho connoisseurs and newleyweds: Chris and Michelle!

Way back somewhere around 1992 I met Chris at Carson Junior High.  Who would have thought that all these years later we would be sitting at a table in beautiful Waikiki, sipping on cocktails, and celebrating not only his birthday, but his wedding to his beautiful wife Michelle (who as a side-note just so happened to go to Junior High with my little sister, Jenny).  What a small and wonderful world we live in.  Although Michelle is a hard core cross fit enthusiast and healthy eater to the max...she has a soft spot for nachos and was beyond stoked to find out about this nacho blog.  There was no question that me must order the nachos and rate them together!  Our waitress was so nice that she even brought out a delicious hula pie on the house to celebrate Chris' bday and the wedding. I had such a lovely night catching up with some fellow Carsonites, making me just a wee bit homesick.  Michelle also filled me in on all the rad nacho spots to hit up when I go back to Reno this fall.  Woo hoo!

Duke's Nachos:  black beans, jalapenos, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream with Kona Longboard Lager five cheese sauce - $11.95 (added kalua pork for $3)

Shannon (4) - Medium sized plate piled up nicely. RAD: Real cheese and black beans, fresh cilantro nice touch. LAME: Not enough jalapenos. T:C Ratio=4.5, every chip had toppings, but at the end, there were no more chips and still delicious toppings on the plate.  The server, Kristen, was extremely nice and helpful.  The view is always amazing at Duke's.

Michelle (4) - Beautiful Nachos! RAD: Real cheese, crispy chips, black beans, layered well, a lot of guacamole. LAME: Not a ton of pork. T:C Ratio=4, some toppings left with no chips.  Super sweet waitress, perfect view of the ocean, nice mood lighting.

Chris (4) - Loved the presentation, the way the toppings were presented on top. RAD: The amount of guacamole on top. LAME: Nothing super lame but needed a bit more pork and chips. T:C Ratio=3.5 - In a good way because there was too much topings.  Great atmosphere, tiki lighting off waikiki.  What isn't there to love?  Server was great
