La Mariana with special guests: Victor and Shari

I surprised Victor and Shari at La Mariana when they got off the plane and we ate some nachos.  I love spontaneous nacho blogging with friends from afar.  The waitress warned us the nachos were not the best thing on the menu, but we didn't care.  Nachos are like pizza and sex...always good.  Some better than others, but always good.  I can't remember how much they were.  I seem to remember there were multiple options of nachos and maybe around $10-12.  Absolutely love the decor and atmosphere of the place. The history is cool too.  Hope this place stays around forever.

Victor Victor Victor (2) - RAD: Chips crispy even with stuff.  LAME: dyed chips.  Topping to chip ratio: 2.  The atmosphere is amazing, everything I envisioned being first timer to Hawaii with Polynesian tiki theme and tree growing in the middle of the restaurant.  Very cool.

Shari (3) - Lots of color.  RAD: Like the pork on it.  LAME: Not enough toppings, beans on the bottom.  Topping to chip ratio: 2.  Love the atmosphere.

Parker (3.5) - Great on top, maybe not layered.  RAD: Dig the salsa, layer across top is really good.  LAME: Beyond the first layer doesn't seem like a whole lot going on.  Kalua pork is dry.  Topping to chip ratio: 1.  Everything I ever expected from the last remaining tiki bar on the island.

Shananigans (2.5) - Fresh cut veggies, real cheese.  RAD: Olives, lots of sour cream, jalapenos.  LAME: The beans are on the bottom, under the chips so you don't find them until you go through the yummy topping layer and the empty chip layer.  Topping to chip ratio: 2.5.  Our waitress was super attentive and sweet, I think maybe her name was Billie?
