Bonito Michoacan Mexican Restaurant - MAINLAND EDITION

Our first night on the mainland, we of course had to eat some Mexican Food.  Ally took us to Bonito Michoacan Mexican Restaurant and it was so bueno!  The restaurant is super colorful with painted chairs and a lively decor.  There was a guy playing songs on his keyboard in the other room.  Songs like "I just called to say I love you" but with a Mexican flare.  I instantly loved the place.  Every so often they would ring a bell and the staff would get together and the keyboard dude would grab a guitar.  They would all meet next to our table to grab a sombrero and a musical accompaniment instrument.  Then they would go to a table and sing and extended version of Happy Birthday to some lucky patron.  There must have been 10 birthdays that night.  I tried to tell them it was my birthday month, but no dice.  When the food came out we knew we were in for a treat!  The first thing we noticed about the nachos was the way they added a red chip to the sour cream and guac to proudly boast the colors of Mexico.  In addition to the nachos we ordered the Cheese Crisp Completo (deep fried flour tortilla covered with Monterrey jack cheese and cheddar cheese) because it was kinda like a nacho.  It was ridiculously tasty.  Since they wouldn't sing happy birthday for birthday month, we put on sombreros and had our own little fashion shoot with the musical instruments (pictures below).

Nachos: $7.50 - Crisp tortilla chips covered with Spanish sauce, beans, melted cheese, jalapenos, guacamole and sour cream.  with carne asada or pollo asado $9.99

Shananigans: (4) - Huge plate and smothered with nacho goodness.  RAD: so much real cheese all over the place.  LAME:  serious lack of spice.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, some of the chips on the bottom were empty but pretty good job with the toppings.

I loved the huge ass margaritas

Mexico!

Autumn:  Carne asada is nice and tender.  The onions are lame.  My margarita is gone...this is also lame.

Ally:  Flavorful meat.  They are too simple and boring, I like a lot of stuff on nachos.  Nacho party!

One at a time Autumn!
