Nachos at the Hall and Oates concert at Blaisdell

Jody and I were stoked to see Hall and Oates.  We enjoyed some cocktails at the Chateau while we rocked out to the songs of the soulful singers.  And then we headed to the show.  We were a little late arriving and by the time we waited in line for drinks and beers, we could hear the show start.  We rushed to our nosebleed seats.  They actually turned out to be epic because we could see right down onto the side of the stage and there was a big TV in front of us for close-ups. Jody was already sitting when we got to our seats and to our surprise she had NACHOS for us.  Granted they were arena nachos so my hopes were not high.  To our surprise they were more than just liquid gold cheese and jalapenos as would be expected from arena nachos. These arena nachos had olives, sour cream, and salsa on top too!  We didn’t have forks or napkins and they were the uber messy kine that needed such accessories.  We took turns eating with our fingers and doing the best to lick the cheesy mess off our fingers.  The show was amazing.  Those guys could still rock it!  Since the seats to the left of us were all empty, we were able to get up in the aisle and dance.  Overall it was a fabulous night.  Better than expected arena nachos, dancing my pants off to the hits of my childhood and  delicious drinks with my favorite ladies.

OVERALL: 2.5. PRESENTATION: It’s dark and I cannot really see anything.  But it appears to be a good size portion with more than just cheese and chips in a boat. There is a huge dollop of sour cream on top. RAD: Olives, lots of cheese, jalapenos.  LAME: So fucking messy.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3.5, more toppings than expected for this caliber of nachos and generously portioned.  Even crappy nachos are still nachos.  That’s what make nachos rad.  And you can’t beat the atmosphere of my two besties at a concert.
