One of our two days in Philly was spent with my girlfriend Jen. We really wanted to see the ocean from this part of the country. Since it was as beautiful as a sunny summer day, she drove us to Atlantic City. The drive itself was insanely gorgeous. There were so many trees all turning colors for fall and blue skies the whole way. When we got to Atlantic City, we headed to get some grub before exploring. Brandy ordered nachos so we could do a bonus Atlantic City blog. They were decent, but nothing to write home about. After lunch we put our feet in the water. It was freezing but so fantastic! Although the boardwalk is so modern now with its fancy hotels and casinos, I could envision what it was like back in the day and wished I could have been there. Like way back during Prohibition days.
On our way to the car we decided to throw a few bucks into the slot machines. I lost my $5 instantly. Jen, however, won $100. Lucky lady! It is a good thing she won the money because we spent the next hour trying to find our car so she was late picking up Grace from daycare and had to pay extra. How is it that 3 sober adult women can lose their car for an hour you say? We have no idea. The casino had multiple parking garages and we tried all kinds of stairwells and paths to find where we were to no success. Finally we found the driveway we had entered from the road and decided we would just walk up that ramp. It was way longer than we remembered driving up and smelled of car exhaust. Not to mention it was steep AF. At every turn we thought, this must be it, the car must be right there. But no, it was not. Finally a security car came by and asked if we wanted a lift. We graciously accepted and it is a good thing we did because we were still so far from the car.

Nachos with a view. We were damn blessed for such a beautiful day in November.
Cheese Nachos $9.95 - And lot's of it! With black olives, cherry peppers, guacamole, sour cream and salsa
Brandy (2.8) - PRESENTATION: Lots of toppings. Really colorful. Chips taste like they have seasoning on them. RAD: Cheese sauce. LAME: Chips are kind of stale. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3.5, too much sour cream. Chips turned soggy.
Jen is getting down with some fries and cheese sauce
Shananigans (3) - PRESENTATION: Pretty colors with the peppers, olives, and plate contrasts. Lots of queso and sour cream. RAD: Queso is liquid and delicious. Banana peppers add a nice sweet spice. LAME: Becomes nacho soup since the chips do not stand up well and the toppings are all wet. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4.7, most chips have cheese on them which is nacho gold. Nothing really spectacular about these nachos. The ocean view is amazing. This is my first time seeing the Atlantic in this part of the country.
