Fiesta Mexicana in Page, AZ - MAINLAND EDITION

While on family vacation in Utah, we booked tours to go to Antelope Canyon and check out the slot canyons. It was a long drive from our cabin in Panguitch so we gave ourselves plenty of time to get there stopping for some really cool Coral Pink Sand Dunes in the middle of nowhere and Horseshoe Bend (see pics below).  When we arrived, 30 minutes prior to our tour leaving, we realize that there was a time change so we were actually very early.  So what do we do?  Find cold margaritas of course! (OMG Arizona is SO HOT!!!)   The first place we found was beyond packed so we ventured down the road to find a less crowded Mexican Restaurant.  We had just eaten lunch so we weren’t very hungry but once we saw they had nachos on the menu, we decided what the heck.  We ordered some pitchers of margaritas and some chicken nachos.  They came smothered in cheese and very flavorful chicken. We nibbled and jotted notes and decided we should probably get one more pitcher.  My sisters are the best.

Cheers!
Deluxe Nachos $9.99 - Corn chips, choice of beef, chicken, or pica, with beans, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole.

Nacho Brother (3) – PRESENTATION: Overwhelming amount of cheese (not that I hate that).  RAD: Again, much cheese.  LAME: Minimal color, small amount of guac in top.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3, Too much cheese and beans, soggy bottom. Moe chips and toppings other than cheese and beans. Overall good, but the margaritas made up some of the nacho's slack.

Shananigans (3.5) – PRESENTATION: Looks really cheesy, can't wait to dive in!  RAD: Chicken was tasty, cheese was really cheesy, loved having nachos with my family, pitchers of margaritas are yummy. LAME: Too soggy, needed a fork, lack of spice, where's the veggies? TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, lots of toppings, maybe too many to the chips? The cheese was awesome, I would definitely rather have too much cheese than too little. Having extra chips on the table made it perfect  They tasted great, but nothing magical. Would eat again because they tasted great. I love having nachos with my family. Servers seemed confused. Every chair hand carved and painted. Decor is fabuloso.

Papa and Mar (4) – PRESENTATION: Mar thought it was very pretty but Papa Leddy's view was blocked by a pitcher of margaritas. RAD: Mar loved the Rad chicken. Papa Leddy loved how his plate was magically filled. LAME: Tortilla chips were soggy as bowl of Cheerios, but this was do to an over abundance of yummy melted cheese. TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, Mar wanted a few more crisp chips. I was very happy with the magical appearance of nachos on my plate. A good dose of Caliente was awesome. They could have been layered a little bit better. Cyreeta's exploding margarita was a great special effect. Indiana Able gave a worldly sense of adventure as we head out into the Arizona scorching sun baking everything.

Simply Confusing (3) – PRESENTATION: Very homestyle, lots of cheese. RAD: It's sitting on top of a very sensual table.  LAME: Soggy nachos.  TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3, Chips were soggy. Cheese is better than no cheese though. Service was a little confusing.

So sensual...

Walking the Coral Pink Sand Dune, the sand was cold and crisp

The Slot Canyons were so beautiful and so old!

Can you see the look of terror on my face?  I got far too close to the edge for my own comfort.
