The nachos had your choice of meat and it was our lucky day because chile verde was the special of the day so we go to have that on our nachos. Chile verde is probably my favorite meat topping. It makes the nachos super wet with all that yummy verde sauce, but it's totally worth it for the slow cooked flavor. One order is perfect to share.
We must come back to try the other Mexican food on the menu as well as the burgers and that Sonora Dog (it's wrapped in BACON)!
Salsa bars are my favorite |
Nacho Love |
Stacey (4) – PRESENTATION: Looks so appetizing and a good size. Lots of guac,
chips look crispy, I love guac.
RAD: The amount of guac (did I mention I love guac?)
LAME: Not much pork.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 3.5.
Great service, so friendly, free wifi, free parking in the back, salsa bar with
great homemade sauces.
Phyllis (4) – PRESENTATION: Very appetizing looking, plenty of guacamole.
RAD: Mix of avocado slices and guacamole.
LAME: Many broken chips, very few whole.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: I had deconstructed nachos with more ingredients vs.
chips with rice, beans, salsa, and avocado. The water is citrus flavored, very
good.
Deconstructed Nachos |
Nacho Libra (4.5) – PRESENTATION: Heaping basket of nachos! Huge scoop of guac!
RAD: See above about guac. We got two types of meat - both
the beef and the chile verde were super yummy! I loved the fresh tomatoes and
guac, oh and real cheese!
LAME: I got nothing.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4.5, there were some empty chips underneath, but
plenty of toppings to scoop up. Deeeelicious!
Love the house-made sauces and how easy it was to customize. Yum!
Nacho
Burrito (4.5) – PRESENTATION: Big plate of nachos. Lots of guacamole, looks
inviting, looks filling.
RAD: Fresh guacamole. These meats are delicious. So much
flavor!
LAME: There could have been more cheese. They make up for it
with a variety of fresh toppings. But still, I want more cheese.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4, toppings lasted all the way to the end. Very fresh
and flavorful. Can taste that it's house made. Cute little place, friendly
staff.
$10 Nachos |
Nacho N8 (3) – PRESENTATION: Stacked! Looks bomb, always a fan of the salsa bar.
RAD: Good, traditional toppings.
LAME: Beef has a gas taste to it. Not smoked/cooked with
much flavor, but there is a ton of it.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4,
the fact that the meat is the most abundant topping is sweet. Needs more guac
and flavor, but very fulfilling.
Karen (3.75) – PRESENTATION: Pico at the salsa bar, not enough tomatoes. Fabulously
generous amount of guac. I prefer chopped tomatoes in the mix.
RAD: Yay! Chips not soggy pile of mush like other places.
LAME: 1/2 empty salsa bar, what's up with that?
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: Good distribution of toppings.
Jim (4.5) – PRESENTATION: Fancy, white sauce checker board.
RAD: Homemade orange hot sauce in the bottle, chile verde
is so tender.
LAME: Too bright.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 5, lots of toppings, perfect! Very bright especially
with cheese hanging off the beard.
Shananigans (4.25) – PRESENTATION: Wow big! Huge
pile of guac, so pretty!
RAD: Can really taste the fresh ingredients, cilantro, real
cheese, flavor explosion in the mouth.
LAME: Really wet but probably because we were super lucky
that chile verde was the special and got to put that as our meat option. Need a
fork to eat them for sure.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4.5, need a fork. The orange bottled house made hot
sauce was incredible!
It's Nacho Day!!! |
Mike (4) – PRESENTATION: Awesome.
RAD: Dig
the guac! The house sauce was fabulous.
LAME: Could use a little more meat and toppings.
TOPPING TO CHIP RATIO: 4. Cute place, very friendly staff, and excellent
service.
I love the outtake photos sometimes. |
